Are you tired of buying new products to aid your every need? Trust me- I’ve been there, too. I’m going to show you fun ways you can incorporate herbs and spices into your everyday life! These spices and herbs are natural, easy to find, and will save you money and time.
1. Garlic
Yes, garlic may not have the sweetest and most pleasant scents but it works wonders. Garlic contains a protein called cysteine, an amino acid that promotes healthy hair and growth. So if you have thin or short hair, then garlic is your lifesaver.
2. Cinnamon
Cinnamon is awesome! It’s a great antioxidant which can help prevent skin damage. Cinnamon is also known to relieve nausea and aid in fat burning as well. There is also research that cinnamon may lower blood sugar for people with type 2 diabetes and lower cholesterol as well. Since cinnamon is filled with four grams of fiber in each tablespoon, it can satisfy your cravings for treats without adding calories or fat.
3. Asian Ginseng
If you’re stressed out, this is what you need. Asian ginseng boosts immunity and helps improve mental health and stress. So if you have a week filled with tests, homework, and studying, add a couple of slices of ginseng into water and relax.
Fun Fact: Arizona Iced Tea has an iced tea that includes ginseng!
4. Lavender (one of my favorites!)
Lavender is another herb to help stress! The smell of this herb is definitely one of my favorite scents. Lavender is well-known for its calming and soothing effects to help ease stress and promote sleep. I buy lavender oil and add a couple of drops into my bath if I need to unwind. I also have lavender spray that I spritz on my pillow right before I go to bed.
5. Nutmeg
Are you having trouble smoothing out blemishes? Well, nutmeg is the thing you need. Thanks to nutmeg’s anti-inflammatory properties, it will help smooth out the bumps on your skin.
6. Green Tea
Where do I even begin? I love green tea! It’s a natural fat burner, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-aging drink. Green tea is the holy grail of herbs. I drink it every morning and try to incorporate it into everything.
